The 4th Strategic and Security Dialogue on “Rise of China and Its Implications for the World” was inaugurated on 16th April 2025 at 9:00 AM at Sant Dnyaneshwar Hall, Main Building, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Pune.
The event was jointly organized by the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies (DDSS), Savitribai Phule Pune University, in collaboration with the Centre for China Analysis and Strategy, New Delhi, and the Centre for Advanced Strategic Studies (CASS), Pune.
The inaugural session commenced with welcome remarks by Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Khare, Head, Department of Defence and Strategic Studies, SPPU, who emphasized the importance of scholarly and strategic engagement with China’s evolving global role in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Gosavi, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Savitribai Phule Pune University
Air Marshal Bhushan Gokhale (Retd.), VSM, AVSM, PVSM, provided a seasoned military perspective on China's strategic ambitions and military posture in the Indo-Pacific.
Mr. Jayadeva Ranade, President, Centre for China Analysis and Strategy, delivered a compelling overview of China’s internal political shifts and its implications for the global strategic environment.
The inaugural session set the tone for a day of deep and engaging discussions with strategic thinkers, defence experts, and scholars from across India.
