Had an excellent lecture-cum-discussion on “Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention: Challenges and Strategies for the 21st Century” organized by the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies (DDSS), Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU).
Over the course of three days (27th to 29th January 2025 from 11 to 2 pm) the sessions provided deep insights into modern challenges and strategies for peacebuilding and conflict resolution in the 21st century. We had the privilege of hosting two distinguished scholars: Prof. Anjoo Sharan Upadhyaya – Former Dean, Faculty of Social Science, BHU; Global Fellow, PRIO and Prof. Priyankar Upadhyaya – UNESCO Chair of Peace, BHU.
Their discussions covered pressing global issues, including the role of diplomacy, international institutions, and grassroots movements in preventing conflicts and fostering sustainable peace. The thought-provoking sessions encouraged meaningful dialogue among students, researchers, and faculty, enriching our understanding of contemporary security dynamics.
